Curves Gym (UK)?
I think joining Curves Gym, as they do a collage special offer now. I know it's a woman only gym, but I'm not really sure what to expect? I would go to a gym, where I can just pop in any time with my i-pod and concentrate on my training. My goal is to lose about 1 1 / 2-2 stone. Is there any circuit training, or is it a cross-trainer / other gym equipment regular. What I work on my own, or in a group? I'm looking to meet people who have joined Curves Gym (Uk) and can tell me something about the experience together, and if it has benefited them in their weight loss? In addition, information on consumption plans, etc. would be really useful.
I was one of the curves, and it's not like a normal gym, but it has other advantages. It depends on what you are looking for. Each gym has a series of workstations arranged in a circle. There is continuous loud music, you need to listen, as it tells you when to move to the next station (if your iPod is a non-starter). You can join the circle at any time – you just take an empty position, and then you do the activity (in general or stretching / weight ratio) for about 2 minutes, then you go to the position follows. Each alternative position is to walk up sharply. You go around the whole circle twice, which takes about 30 minutes, then you go to area cooldown do some stretching. There is no regular gym equipment outside the circle, so that every time you go it will be the same thing. The main advantages are: (i) its cheaper than the gym (ii) it is easy to follow and quick – 30 minutes (iii) it is easy for people unfit or major handicaps of women are: (i), it can become annoying (ii) if you are good enough, you're likely to find far too easy (iii) it seems only burns 180 calories per session, which is unlikely to lead to weight loss alone They have a club system along the element gymnastics, but her very strict and I doubt I could keep. Hope this helps
